Meet Sheriff Ken Henderson
Candidate for Sheriff Re-Elect of Towns County, Georgia
My name is Kenneth Henderson, and I am honored to serve each day as your Sheriff. I will continue to work hard every day to keep our community safe. I am officially announcing my intention to run for re-election in 2024. I will be running in the Republican Primary.
Experience:
I have over 38 years in law enforcement and currently serve as the Sheriff of Towns County. I have had the honor to serve as the Sheriff of Towns County for 3 years. Before being elected Sheriff, I was the Chief of Police at Young Harris College where I served 35 years. While working as the Chief of Police, I was able to work as a police officer for the City of McCaysville, GA. I have also worked as a deputy for the Towns County Sheriff's Department, under a previous administration, as well as a Jailer at Towns and Union County Sheriff's Department, throughout my career.
I am a lifelong resident of Towns County. My parents, Anna Louise Henderson and Birl Henderson, were also native to Towns County, as were my grandparents. This is my home and I care about it deeply, which is why I am running for reelection as your Sheriff to continue to protect the place we all call home.
If you reelect me, I will continue to stand by my word, be visible, and work hard for each of you everyday. I will continue to be a working Sheriff alongside my officers, always on the job and always available to you. I will take your phone calls and re-turn the ones I miss in a timely manner. I will maintain that every officer in our department have the most up to date law enforcement training in order to ensure that our citizens, schools, churches, and businesses are kept safe. I will not tolerate illegal activity in our county, whether it be drug activity or otherwise, and I will continue to support and help my deputies and drug agents to serve, protect, and work drugs in our county. I will continue each day to work hard and keep the citizens of Towns County safe. I appreciate your support.
Thanks!
-Ken
